It was a perfect time, in a perfect place, on a perfect day. That’s the way it was on Friday evening, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 for the Georgia Strawberry Festival in Reynolds, GA.
Friday evening Gospel Fest Picnic and Concert got the festival off to a good start when One Accord took the stage and blessed the crowd with an hour filled with good gospel music. They were followed by Fountain City Brass who brought us a different kind of music for our area. All we had to do was just sit back and let the music flow over us like a cool mountain stream soothing our spirits.
Saturday morning brought sunshine and a full day of activities. 5K walkers and runners were out early and so were those preparing for the Berry Blast Girls’ Softball tournament, while in town vendors and festival workers were busy getting set up for the day.
The parade brought people to town early for the line up to begin at 9:30 and at 10:00 the parade stopped traffic as bands, floats, trucks, cars, horses, and others made their way through town with people lining the streets to see their favorites. After this, the crowd made their way around the festival grounds and enjoyed live musical entertainment, shopped the vendors, bought something good to eat, let the children enjoy some rides, visited the classic car and truck show, sampled the strawberry cook-off entries, bought books to support the Reynolds Woman’s Club, thrilled at the lawn mower races, and still had time to watch the softball tournament. WOW! What a day it was.
So many worked together to make this a fun, entertaining, well-run festival and all the efforts of everyone came together for a successful event. Much appreciation goes out to the Georgia Strawberry Festival Board and Committee who work on this year round.A special thanks to all our sponsors:
