Would like an application for the 2020 event.
My name is Andy Burr; I’m a performer who plays guitar and harmonica and sings; my wife, Sara, plays mandolin. Sara and I have some stage (or roaming) acts, any of which might make a nice addition to entertainment line-up for the upcoming Strawberry Festival. Would you please consider us?
These are my 4 acts:
Pickin’ & Grinnin’ — Two farmers who are outstanding in their field present a mix of barn-dance music, silly farm jokes, and audience participation, including musical instrument petting zoo and Kids’ Open Mic. It’s great family-friendly fun! It can be a stage act or battery-powered grounds act with backdrop and sound system. Kids’ Zone, perhaps?

The Porchdogs (duo/trio/quartet) has been playing spicy Louisiana Cajun and zydeco and New Orleans pop music since 1992. We’re especially good for themes like Low Country Seafood Boil, Bayou, Swamp Party, Mardi Gras, etc.

Mountain Brew (duo/trio) specializes in Americana (old-timey/bluegrass/country/folk/blues/Cajun), or Irish music.
The Retro Ramblers (duo/trio) plays ‘oldies’ 1950s-’80s pop, light rock, and country standards. Nice variety music for dancing or listening. We also have an ‘all-Christmas’ show.
Over the past 25 years, one group or another has performed daily at the Florida State Fair (nine years) and multiple dates at the South Florida Fair (16 days 2012; 10 days 2017, 4 days 2018) and various other Fairs; repeating at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida, at Cypress Gardens and Silver Springs, 15 years at Bike Week in Daytona, at many, many civic events and festivals, and various corporate and private affairs throughout the Southeast US.
Any of the above can be a stage act or a battery-powered grounds act, providing a PA system and stage lighting when needed. We’re professional and easy to work with, and like to joke around and have a good time. All the acts use pre-recorded bass and drums that give us a danceable full-band sound. We can fit within almost any budget.
Do you think you might be able to use one of my groups? I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Best regards,
Andy
